A few days ago, BBNaija star and actor, Pere Egbi, cautioned Nigerians who disobey instructions while on the flight, asking them to always switch off mobile phones during critical take take-off and landing of aircraft.

He wrote: “Dear Nigerians when the flight crew says turn off all mobile devices, especially during the critical phases of taking off and landing, TURN IT OFF! “Those texts and calls can wait! safety first! Happy Friday!”

Reacting to this, popular on-air personality, Daddy Freeze, disagreed with him, saying there is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving phones on during takeoffs and landing of flights.

He also challenged pilots to debate on the issue, insisting it wasn’t for safety reasons.

Former air hostess and BBNaija star, Maria, thereafter, supported Daddy Freeze’s assertion that it is safe to leave phone one while on flight saying:

“My dearest Nigerians, as an ex-flight attendant for 6 years and a trained basic pilot, there’s absolutely nothing that can happen to the aircraft/flight at any stages of the flight, take off, cruise, and landing stages. Thank you”

Not satisfied with her contribution, Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh, frowned at Maria’s decision to support impunity, adding that it was wiser to be quiet than encourage lawlessness

Ada Ameh also asked her for the essence of the announcement if her assertion is true.

“Madam, so why are they always making the announcement? Sometimes it’s good to keep quiet if you don’t have anything to say!! You just joined many Nigerians that cannot abide by simple rules and regulations. And also encouraged lawlessness.” she wrote.
