Nigerian actress and model, Efe Irele has made a surprising U-turn in the choice of who she is supporting to represent Surulere constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Veteran actor, Desmond Elliot is seeking re-election into the Lagos state House of Assembly, but his junior colleague, Olumide Oworu who is running for the first time is challenging him.
Efe Irele, who earlier cheered her Nollywood colleague, Oworu on after he made his intention known, has now taken to her Instagram page to share photos of Elliot, tagging him as her friend and big brother.

The actress in the post highlighted the older thespian’s achievements as a member of the Lagos State legislative chamber in the past eight years and affirmed that she would be voting for him.
She wrote: “I believe in @desmondelliot not because I know him but because I have seen what he has done as an individual and as a lawmaker. I have seen how he encouraged and supported young Lagosians (including me) in the creative industry. I have seen him provide free shuttle buses for students in Surulere. I personally know up to 15 out of the 1,000 people he provided free health care and insurance for. Forget PR and social media management, Desmond Elliot is a good representative and I will be supporting and voting for him on Saturday. I am with you, my big brother and friend. @desmondelliot.”
After her post made the rounds on social media, netizens trooped to the comment section to slam Efe Irele for changing her mind.
