Nollywood actress, Bukola Awoyemi, popularly known as Bukola Arugba, has criticized an alleged attempt to downplay the recent terrorist attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara State by the state’s First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq.
TheNiche had earlier reported that a branch of the church at Eruku in Ekiti LGA of the state was attacked by terrorists during a program that was streamed live on Tuesday, November 18.
Three worshipers reportedly died, while an unconfirmed number were kidnapped alongside the pastor.
Reacting to the tragic incident in a now-trending video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday evening, Bukola Arugba accused the Kwara State First Lady of labeling the incident an “attempted attack” in a statement shared on her official page, despite a live video showing the bandits in action.

Contradicting Mrs. Abdulrazaq’s claim, the thespian, who is a native of the Eruku community, stated that three of her family members were abducted and are still with their abductors.
She went on to chide the governor’s wife for downplaying the seriousness of the incident, insisting that the attack was deadly and successfully carried out by the terrorists.
While calling for help, she said: “I read a press release on Kwara State First Lady’s page regarding the bandit attack in my hometown Eruku, Ekiti LGA, Kwara State, which totally contradicts the sad truth. This video is to address and correct the report released on your page, ma’am.
”This involves my people directly. We all saw the viral video online; they were on live streaming while the program was going on.
”It was never an attempted attack but a successful attack. I was in so much pain after I saw the release that it was an attempted attack, that nobody died. But people were hospitalized, with a lot of people abducted, while three people are confirmed dead.
”My aunty, Titi Balogun, and two of my cousins, Ebenezer and Aina, were abducted. The reports on your page are false. It totally contradicts what happened.”
