Acting NSC DG pledges to take sports to a new height

The Acting Director General of National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Alhassan Yakmut has pledged the implementation of the Communiqué for the development of sports read and presented by the Executive Committee of the Directors of Sports Forum, saying some of its recommendations would be adopted as a roadmap for the development of sports in the country.

Speaking when he received in audience on behalf of the Minister/Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, the Executive members of Directors of Sports Forum across the country, led by the Chairman and Director of Sports, Kwara State, Mallam Tunde Kassim in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, Yakmut said “the communiqué which you have read and presented top me will form the roadmap for the development sports in the country.”
He expressed gratitude to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for appointing him as the Acting Director General of the NSC pledging that he would do his utmost to justify the confidence reposed on him.

 
“As a professional, I will ensure that I will bring my training and experience to bear on the job to ensure that sports development in the country is moved to the next level.”

Earlier, the leader of delegation and Chairman, Director of Sports Forum, Mallam Tunde Kassim commended President Goodluck Jonathan for the appointment describing Mallam Yakmut as “a round peg in the round hole.”

 
He urged the National Sports Commission under the watch of Mallam Alhassan Yakmut to pay equal attention to all sports federations. He also urged the Commission to commence the preparation for the 2015 All African Games, while urging the Commission to set up a 7-man committee to seek for funds for all Sports Federation for the forthcoming games.
