Abdulrazaq thanks cabinet members for re-election, service to state

Abdulrazaq said members of the cabinet were instrumental to the success of his administration and victory of the APC at the polls.

In preparation for a fresh term of office, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Tuesday held a valedictory meeting with members of his cabinet appreciating them for contribution to governance and his re-election.

The governor was re-elected in the last governorship poll in the state with his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning virtually all available seats of both the national and state assemblies.

Abdulrazaq, according to a statement by the commissioner for communication, Abubakar Buhari, said members of the cabinet were instrumental to the success of his administration and victory of the APC in the last election in the state.

“We have done so well together, and I thank you all for your services to the state. This is the valedictory meeting of the cabinet but we are going to have some other (informal) meeting in the coming week to further show appreciation to one another,” the governor said.

“I thank you for your contributions to our achievements and your roles during the election.”

Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Aliyu Sabi, who spoke for his colleagues at the meeting thanked the governor and the people of the state for the opportunity given to them to serve at the cabinet level.

“We commend Your Excellency for your great leadership and forbearance. We really appreciate the opportunity to serve, and we are proud to have been part of the success stories of this administration,” he said.
