Former federal lawmaker who represented Adamawa North senatorial district between 2019 and 2023 in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo, has asked a woman who accused him of a sexual offense to apologize and retract her statement in three days or face the wrath of the law.
Earlier in September, a video showing a woman in a romp with a man whose face was hidden went viral on social media.
After the video made the rounds, a woman identified as Wange Minso, alleged that the hidden face in the clip was that of Senator Abbo.
The woman further said the video was released by the former senator because he got angry with her over something she did.
Responding to the allegations, Abbo said the woman fingered him as the hidden face in the video because his political opponents were using her against him.

However, in a cease and desist letter addressed to the woman and routed through his counsel, M.J. Numa & Partners LLP, on Wednesday, Abbo asked his “accuser to retract her allegations on national television and in the national dailies that initially published the claims.”
The firm also warned the accuser to act accordingly, or it would initiate legal proceedings to demand damages in favour of its client.
Abbo’s counsel also described the allegations against the former senator as “false, malicious, and defamatory,” and causing “irreparable damage” to his reputation.
The lawyers went on to add that Abbo is considering legal action because he cannot fail to act while his reputation is being tarnished.
