The duo met following the dissolution of five emirates by the Kano State House of Assembly through the repeal of the state emirate law and the subsequent restoration of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II by the governor.

Tofa said the men deliberated on several issues including state and national development and the peaceful coexistence of the nation.

Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo apologised to Ribadu for the allegation, attributing it to flawed intelligence.

The meeting coincided with Sanusi’s sixth day at the Kano palace, where a significant majority of district heads and kingmakers have pledged their allegiance to him.
