The home side dominated possession but it was the away side who took advantage of their opportunities.

Arsenal scored as early as the 5th minute when a corner swung in from the right by Bukayo Saka was headed in by Gabriel to make it 1-0 to the away side.

Gunners doubled their tally in the 18th minute when Emile Smith Rowe pounced on Luke Thomas’s weak attempt to clear the ball, to score Arsenal’s second goal.

Leicester continued to dominate possession after going two goals down but were unable to break down a resolute Arsenal side in the first half.

The match continued in the same fashion in the second half with the home side still dominating ball possession.

Arsenal’s rearguard and keeper Aaron Ramsdale, however, repelled the Leicester duo of Jimmy Verdy and Iheanacho, to end the game 2-0 in favor of the Gunners.

The match referee, Michael Oliver, brought proceedings to a conclusion after adding six extra minutes.

Arsenal had a remarkable day, but it was the keeper, Aaron Ramsdale who had a man of the match performance on the day.
