Jonathan groups tears NFF apart

-

The least have not been heard of the major reasons behind the leadership struggle that engulfed normal activities in the football house in Nigeria.

TheNiche can report that several claiming loyalists to the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the promise to deliver regional votes to the ruling part lay the control of the glass house.

Efforts to bring the situation under control, has however been misinterpreted as an attempt by Government to meddle into the affairs of running football in the country an idea that goes contrary to FIFA regulations.

According to our findings, the two warring parties are currently exhibiting their political prowess in the Aminiu Maigari support group and the Chris Giwa Support group are all within the confide of the PDP, claiming to be the kitchen cabinet of Mr. President.

Maigari who is an in-law to the siting chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, is also enjoying the political support of Senator Bala Mohammed, who is also a key member of the Federal Executive Member (FEC) and the Minister of FCT.

The political permutation of winning the north East for President Jonathan despite the threat of Insurgency at the region is also part of Maigari’s weapon, an attempt which political watchers saw as pure blackmail against the Presidency.

At the other side, the Chris Giwa group has lined up its arsenal through the Southern link to the first lady Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan who also has his boys who dealt with the siting Governor Chibuike Amaechi on the battle of leadership in Rivers State, which eventually saw the division of the Governors forum and the sudden defection of Chibuike Loyalist in the State to APC.

Chief Felix Obua, Rivers State PDP Chairman and the political errand boy to the first lady, is said to be given to control the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), as well as the immediate Minister of sports Barrister Tamuno Danagogo, who together fought Chibuike Amaechi out of Rivers PDP.

Obviously the efforts to remove Maigari and installing Chris Giwa which has been engulfed in political tussle among the two groups laying claims of having upper hand, was said to has been championed by the siting Danagogo according to our sources.

Danagogo, who is the supervising Minister and Chief Felix Obua who incidentally became a member of the disputed Chris Giwa led NFF board, is actually fighting to protect their political allocation while that of Maigari group weeping up sentiments for being loyal to Mr. President.

Maigari, who was initially impeached out of office, had himself reinstated back with the help of his Northern ally in solidarity to the perceived injustice to its country man.

The move noticed late by the Maigari loyalists, made the withdrawal from the August 26 Congress that brought in Giwa and his board members.

Maigari has also capitalised on virtue of his membership of FIFA committees to wage war against his ache rivals from the first ladies office, the SGF and the office of the Honourable Minister of sports.

For the time being, efforts and measures have been put in place to bring to an end the foot dragging peace talk those of them that has been marred by insincerity, both parties claiming more politically connected than the other.

As the saying goes, where two elephants fight the grass suffers. The Nigerian football, is indeed suffering out of political struggles motives of some individuals. Football is however, suffering from the forthcoming 2015 general election, which the aggrieved parties is laying claims to be better friend to President Jonathan than the other.

Nigerians await to see the outcome of the talk as the fight is already taking a toll on the Super Eagles who was humbled in Calabar by visiting Congolese National team in African Nations Cup qualifiers.
