Buhari, target of second Kaduna bomb blast – Fashakin

Three-time presidential and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammdau Buhari narrowly escaped being killed in the second bomb explosion to rock Kaduna State Wednesday.

Information at the disposal of The Niche has it that the second bomb blast to occur in the northern city on Wednesday, went off at a popular area known as Kawo, very close to the bridge.

When The Niche contacted Fashakin, Buhari’s spokesperson, he said a car was trailing the convoy of Buhari and once they got to the crowded area, they detonated the bomb.

 

“The bomb was targeted at General Muhammadu Buhari who was driving through the place at the time, from all clear indications. And by the grace of God, he escaped this one and he is fine and in good health,” Fashakin said.

Although the casualty figure is still unclear, our source said several people have died already as a result of the blast and the area has been cordoned off by security agents.

 

‎Following the twin bomb incidents in different area of Kaduna metropolis, the Kaduna State Government has since declared a 24-hour curfew in the state.

 

In a statement, Governor Ramalan Yero, who condemned the disasters which claimed the lives of close to thirty people and left several others injured, urged residents to be vigilant and allow security agents do their jobs.

 

While describing the attackers, suspected to be Boko Haram members as agents of darkness, commiserate with victims and their families.
