Nigerian music industry stands still for app launch

Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, KCee, Sound Sultan, WizKid, Ras Kimono, Praiz and a host of other Nigerian music acts were at the recent launch party for MTN Music+App tick. That is not mentioning Diana King who came all the way from Jamaica to grace the event not just with her presence but also performed to the excitement of guests.

Also at the launch of MTN Music+App on Friday, July 11 in Lagos were Kennis Music boss, Kenny Ogungbe; celebrity designer, Emmy Collins; Uber celebrity stylist, Lillian Unachuwku; United Kingdom-based music artiste, Waliyah Abiola; Managing Director, Up Close and Personal Management Group, Paul O Prime; as well as Dr. SID and OritseFemi.

Hosted by Olisa Adibua of Beat FM, the launch had electrifying performances by DJ Sose and DJ Neptunes.

 

Other celebs who came out to shine that night include Sean Tizzle, Harry Songz, Skales, Saeon, Gbenro Ajibade, Gideon Okeke, Tee Y Mix,  Vina, Stephanie Coker, Destiny Amaka, Nedu and Yaw of Wazobia FM

The rest include fashion publicist, Ono Bello; as well as Olawale, Monica and Immaculate, who came out of MTN Project Fame.

 

The event also witnessed the official release of ‘Naija Ninja’, Sound Sultan’s latest effort; and ‘Ishe’ where he collaborates with Ghanaian rap sensation, Sarkodie.

 

The high point on that unforgettable night was the performance by Nigerian R&B vocalist, Praiz, and international dancehall and reggae artiste, Diana King. The duo performed the remix of ‘Mercy’, the hit single originally done by Praiz.

 

The app is a music streaming and download platform, optimised for mobile and online access, and is socially enabled to accommodate cross-user activity which can be downloaded for a one-month free trial.
