Two illustrious sons of Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Afam Ogene and His Honour Oseloka Obaze, have been named to top positions in the Nigeria Democratic Coalition (NDC) ahead of the next general elections.

This was contained in a congratulatory statement issued by stakeholders in
Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anambra State.

According to the statement signed by Mr. Chinedum Uwolloh, NDC Candidate for Ogbaru II State Constituency, the appointments are a “well-deserved national recognition” of the leaders’ “voice of reason, people-oriented leadership, and unwavering commitment to national development.”

Ogene, who currently serves as Chairman, House Committee on Renewable Energy, Leader of the NDC Caucus in the House of Representatives, and Spokesperson of the Minority Caucus in the 10th Assembly, was appointed a Member of the 18-member National Campaign Caucus of the NDC.

Obaze was named Anambra State Representative on the 40-Member National Campaign Advisory Council, and also appointed Director, Logistics and Operations of the National Campaign Directorate.”

The statement described both men as “worthy, illustrious sons and representatives of Ogbaru” whose wealth of knowledge and experience Nigeria will benefit from.

“Ogbaru is proud of you. Anambra is proud. Nigeria will benefit from your wealth of knowledge and experience,” the statement read.

Political observers note that the appointments signal NDC’s reliance on experienced Anambra hands and federal lawmakers with strong grassroots appeal as the party shapes its campaign structure.
