Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has asked Nigerians who are feeling the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to speak up, arguing that he is addressing the country’s problems.

The veteran thespian made this known recently while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Talk To B podcast, hosted by actress Biola Adebayo.

According to Kosoko, when assessing Tinubu’s performance, it is imperative that Nigerians consider the country’s situation before he took office.

“Things are not as bad as some people have claimed, and they need to understand. Go and check the majority of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” he said.

Asked to back his claim by pinpointing the things ordinary Nigerians are enjoying under the current administration, he insisted that the President is working to address problems inherited by his administration.

He, however, named the student loan scheme as one of the government’s initiatives from which citizens have benefitted.

Kosoko went on to urge those who have benefitted from the scheme to speak about how the programme has alleviated their suffering.

He said the government had promised to support graduates who could not immediately secure employment, adding, “Such initiatives deserve public attention.”

Kosoko, who said he had been involved in politics since 1978, also argued that political ambition sometimes prevented people from acknowledging what he considered progress by the government.

According to him, even opposition parties knew the Tinubu-led administration had performed but had allowed their political interests to influence their opinions.

“Those in the opposition know the truth. They know that the man is on the right track, but ambition is affecting their thinking,” Kosoko said.
