Wike, Adeleke, Soludo present as APC inaugurates presidential campaign council
President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and senior officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday attended the inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.
The event marks the formal activation of the APC’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The party had announced that the inauguration would be held at the Presidential Villa on October 14.
Tinubu arrived at the Old Banquet Hall at about 2:41 p.m., after which the first stanza of the National Anthem was rendered.
Governors Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State and Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, as well as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike – all of whom are not members of the APC – were in attendance. The APC included them as members of the council.
Also in attendance were Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, was also present. Yari was appointed to lead the council in August, while Uzodimma serves as its secretary.
The APC is expected to formally flag off its 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24, according to the campaign council’s timetable.
