All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Minister of Aviation and Aent, Festus Keyamo, has alleged that there is “subdued bitterness” between the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, and his Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) counterpart, Peter Obi, insisting that President Bola Tinubu is not the problem.

The Delta State-born politician and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) made the claim on Saturday in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.

Keyamo was reacting to the Independence Day broadcasts made by Atiku and Obi after Tinubu had addressed the nation.

In his broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary, Tinubu said Nigeria had passed through its own Red Sea, stressing that prosperity was next.

Reacting, Atiku said Tinubu made fake and “Yahoo Yahoo” promises to Nigerians, while Obi stated that Nigeria still faces deep-seated challenges with poverty, insecurity, unemployment, education, and healthcare.

Taking to his verified handle, Keyamo claimed that Atiku and Obi are struggling with a huge ego battle and subdued bitterness.

He wrote: “After watching both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, presidential candidates of the ADC and NDC, respectively, scramble to make their own ‘broadcasts’ yesterday after the President’s speech, I came to one irrefutable conclusion:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the problem of these gentlemen. There is a huge ego battle between Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

“There is also a subdued bitterness between them and their supporters. Since they could not work together despite all entreaties, both men think they have a point to prove to each other, and all their present battles are to prove who the real opposition is to the ruling party and who is entitled to claim the second spot come January 16, 2027.”
