Former lawmaker Ismail Inah Hussain pays tribute to ex-Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris
Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ismail Inah Hussain, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his death as a monumental loss to Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a tribute released to honor the late elder statesman, Hussain referred to the former governor popularly known as “Ibro”as his boss, political mentor, and a father figure whose leadership and guidance played a pivotal role in shaping his own journey.
”It is with a heavy heart and gratitude to Almighty Allah that I mourn the glorious exit of my boss, political mentor, and former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris,” Hussain stated. “Your death is a great loss to me, all family members, associates, political family, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large.”
Hussain highlighted the late governor’s dedication to public service, noting that his wisdom, kindness, and exemplary leadership would leave a lasting legacy across the state.
”I will forever cherish your guidance, wisdom, kindness, and the invaluable lessons you imparted to me,” he said.
“Today, I mourn the loss of a great leader who dedicated a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the development of Kogi State.”
Offering prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul, Hussain asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for God to grant the Idris family, friends, associates, and the people of Kogi State the fortitude to bear the loss.
