Kwara Police Command donates N10m to deceased 19 police officers’ families

The Kwara State Police command has presented cheques worth up to N10 million to families of 19 deceased police officers.
The cheques, totalling ₦10,613,786.50, were reportedly presented by Commissioner Of Police (CP) Ojo Adekimi at the Kwara State Police Command Headquarters, Ilorin.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the state’s command on their official X account on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner encouraged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the funds, particularly towards the welfare, education and future of their families.
He said that while the financial assistance could not replace a loved one, it demonstrated the continued commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to provide welfare of families left behind by officers who died in service to the nation.
Adekimi also commended the Inspector-General Of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for sustaining welfare initiatives designed to support the families of police personnel who died in service.
Speaking on behalf of the 19 beneficiaries, M.T. Moshood thanked the IGP and the Nigeria Police Force for remembering and supporting the families of the deceased officers.
Moshood described the intervention as a meaningful demonstration that the families of officers who died in service had not been forgotten.
The Police Command further reassured officers and their families that the Force remains committed to personnel welfare while honouring the sacrifices of officers who gave their lives in service to the country.
