British commentator and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has backed his former club to beat their city rivals, Manchester City, in Sunday’s Premier League derby.
The former England right-back made this known recently in the latest episode of his podcast, The Overlap.
Man Utd will host Man City, who finished as runners-up in the league last season, at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
Speaking ahead of the eagerly anticipated encounter, Neville backed Michael Carrick’s side to edge the match 2–1.

According to him, City will find the game tough because they are just finding their feet under their new manager, Enzo Maresca, following the exit of Pep Guardiola.
He went on to add that some of the Cityzens’ players will find it difficult because they are visiting United’s home ground, Old Trafford, for the first time.
Speaking on the show, Neville said, “If I look at Sunday, it’s a new City and a few of them won’t have gone there [to Old Trafford].
“I think United are going to win, but if you asked what the score is going to be, I would say 2-1 to United.”
Man City currently sit at the top of the Premier League table with 9 points from three games, while Man Utd sit in eleventh position.
