Akande celebrates Oge Okeagbe Ere festival, prays for unity, peace

Ondo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Akande, has felicitated with the people of Oge Kingdom, Okeagbe Akoko, on the occasion of the annual Ere Festival.
Akande, in a goodwill message to the Owage of Oge Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alexander Jimoh, Sekeseke Adodo II, described the festival as a significant occasion that brings sons and daughters of the kingdom together in celebration.
The commissioner, who identified himself as a son of the soil, said the annual festival provided an opportunity for the people to reconnect with their cultural heritage, strengthen communal bonds and promote unity.
He congratulated the traditional ruler and the entire people of Oge Kingdom for successfully marking another edition of the festival, urging them to sustain the values of peace, unity and togetherness.
According to him, the Ere Festival remained an important cultural occasion through which the people could celebrate their common heritage and reinforce their commitment to the development of the kingdom.
Akande stated: “With my utmost joy, I celebrate with you on this very occasion of the annual festival, Ere.
“This is a celebration that brings the sons and daughters of the land together on a yearly basis.”
He prayed that the people of Oge Kingdom would continue to celebrate the festival together in peace and unity for many years to come.
The commissioner joined other notable sons and daughters of Oge Kingdom in celebrating with Oba Jimoh and the people of the kingdom.
He further prayed for continued peace, prosperity and unity among the people, stressing the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the community for future generations.
Akande also expressed his joy at identifying with the people on the occasion, describing the festival as a moment of collective celebration and renewed bonds among the people of Oge.
He concluded his message with prayers for the traditional institution and the entire Oge Kingdom, saying, “Aseyisaodun, amin.”
