Real Madrid attacker, Kylian Mbappe, has made it clear that he prioritises the UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy over individual awards, including the Ballon d’Or.
He made this known while speaking with CBS after leading the La Liga giants to a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The France captain opened the scoring for Jose Mourinho’s side in the 14th minute with a clinical finish from just inside the box, netting his 71st goal in 99 appearances in the competition.
Madrid then made it 2-0 nine minutes later after captain Federico Valverde capitalised on an error by Inter’s Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez, dispossessing him before tapping over the line.

Carlos Augusto set up a grandstand finish between Mourinho’s current and former clubs after scoring in the 77th minute for the visitors.
Asked which is more important to him between lifting the Champions League trophy and winning the Ballon d’Or, Mbappe picked the former.
He said, “That is what I said yesterday about the Ballon d’Or, but winning the Champions League is even more important. I play for the club of my dreams.
“I need to win the Champions League here in Madrid; I want it more than anything.
“But of course, regarding the Ballon d’Or this year, I think it is a great opportunity. It is a good year for me,”
