Atiku, Osinbajo, ADC bigwigs attend Amaechi’s mother’s burial
Vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rotimi Amaechi buried his mother Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi on Saturday in Ubima, Rivers State.
Senior leaders of the ADC, including its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and National Chairman, Senator David Mark, were in attendance.
Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
The funeral service was held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ubima.
The ADC said the leaders joined Amaechi and his family “to pay their final respects and stand with the Amaechi family in their time of grief.”
Dame Amaechi’s death was announced on July 16, 2026. She was 89 years old.
Her burial comes a day after former Anambra State governor Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso visited Amaechi’s Port Harcourt residence to offer their condolences.
