Yesufu told Nigerians to ensure that neither election officials nor result sheets are allowed out of their sight throughout the process.

Human rights activist and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has expressed a lack of confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a free and fair election despite the deployment of technological tools.
The activist-turned-politician made this known on Thursday via a post on her official X handle, saying, “INEC technology can’t be trusted”.
Yesufu called on Nigerians to monitor the counting and movement of result sheets closely through every stage of collation during the 2027 election.
She added that vigilance is required from citizens from their local polling units up to the final collation centre in Abuja.
“The technology of INEC cannot be trusted! We will consider everything manual and analogue,” she said.
Yesufu further urged voters to watch the counting of votes and the recording of results at polling units closely on election day.
“We must watch eagle-eyed the counting of our votes on Election Day. Watch like hawks as they write the results,” she said.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain also called for result sheets to be monitored as they move from polling units to ward, local government, and state collation centres before reaching Abuja.
“Follow our result sheets from polling unit to ward, LG, State collation centres and finally to Abuja,” she said.
Yesufu said Nigerians should ensure that neither election officials nor result sheets are allowed out of their sight throughout the process.
“In all of these no single official or result sheets must be out of our sights. From the creeks to the deserts we will follow,” Yesufu said.
In conclusion, Yesufu noted that the ultimate goal of the election should be to ensure that the result announced reflects the wishes of Nigerians.
“At the end we will all gather in Abuja and ensure that what the people voted is what is announced,” she argued.
