Former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Akintola Olajide, has passed away.
His death was announced on Wednesday via a statement released to journalists by his family.
While the family noted that Olajide breathed his last on Tuesday, August 25, it did not state the circumstances surrounding his demise.

The statement read, “It is with gratitude to Almighty Allah for a life well lived, and with submission to His will, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and cousin, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Akintola Olajide, who returned to his Creator today, August 25, 2026.
“May Allah grant the entire family and all his loved ones the strength, patience and comfort to bear this loss.”
The family went on to announce that the Janazah prayer will be held today, Wednesday, at 11:00 am, at the MAN Centre, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
Olajide served during the administration of the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who has also died.
