Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba has explained why he opted to join Manchester United from Brighton, describing the move as a “dream” that has come true.
He made this known on Tuesday while speaking to the club’s website following the completion of his five-year contract, which includes the option of a further year.
Speaking after completing his medical and signing a £70m deal—comprising a £65m guaranteed fee plus £5m in add-ons—Baleba noted that he has always wanted to play for the Manchester club.
He went on to say he is looking forward to developing under Michael Carrick’s tutelage and playing his part in “delivering the success” United “are capable of”.
“It is an incredible feeling to join the club of my dreams. Playing at Old Trafford is always special, but the opportunity to do so as a Manchester United player will be a real honour,” Baleba said.

He added, “I cannot wait to work with Michael Carrick; his experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect coach to help me reach the highest level.
“The ambition of everyone at the club is extremely clear, the future is hugely exciting, and I am determined to play my part in delivering the success that we are capable of together.”
