Davido also noted that his father, Adedeji Adeleke, supported his brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, throughout the governorship poll.

Music star, songwriter, and music producer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and business mogul Aliko Dangote urged him to delete tweets he shared during the recently held Osun State gubernatorial election, but he declined.
The Afrobeats singer made this known on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with News Central Television.
During the off-cycle election, Davido called out several politicians, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Federal Government on social media over the conduct of the poll.
The “Electricity” hitmaker, who backed his uncle and Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, also alleged that large sums of money were brought to the state in an attempt to influence the outcome of the governorship election.
He said, “If you saw the cash these people brought to the election that day, if they had gotten away with that election, Nigeria would have been finished by now, because the blueprint of Nigerian elections would have been violence and vote-buying.”
Drawing a contrast with his uncle’s approach to the election, Davido added, “We didn’t spend a dime on election day. All we could do was just pray that these people take their money and vote for us,” he said.
“It got to a point where it was the Osun people who were beating the people trying to seize ballots. People are tired.”

Addressing the high-profile calls he received as results were being tallied, the musician revealed that he refused appeals to take down his updates on X (formerly Twitter), where he was tracking polling unit results and highlighting delays.
“I heard the Senate President was trying to call the collation centre… They were calling me to delete. I said, ‘Sorry o. You guys have literally just gone against my uncle… I can’t delete anything.’ Uncle Aliko called me too. I said, ‘Uncle, I’m not deleting until the INEC announcement,’” he revealed.
Davido also urged his uncle to serve as an example to other governors, saying Governor Adeleke’s victory came despite what he described as overwhelming odds against him.
“My uncle should be an example to other governors. With all odds against us, my uncle still won,” he said.
The singer added that his father, Adedeji Adeleke, also supported the governor throughout the election period.
“Even my dad was praying and fasting seven times a day for my uncle,” he said.
