Araujo completed a season-long loan deal from Spanish club Barcelona to English Premier League outfit Liverpool on Monday.

Barcelona attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez has expressed sadness over the La Liga giants’ decision to allow club captain Ronald Araujo to move to Liverpool.
He made his feelings known after the Reds completed a season-long loan for the 27-year-old defender on Monday.
Araujo was part of the Barcelona team that won La Liga last season, scoring three goals in 24 games in the build-up to lifting the trophy ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Reacting to the decision to let the Uruguayan leave the Camp Nou, Lopez believes it is a shame that the club captain had to leave Barcelona for the Premier League side.
While admitting that they are quite close, he expressed his hope that the move does not end up becoming permanent.
Speaking on Araujo’s move to Liverpool, Lopez said (as per SPORT): “He has come to say goodbye.
“It’s a shame, because he is a captain and I have a good relationship with him. He made the decision to continue developing, and I hope he comes back next season.”
