I’ve never slept with another woman since marrying my wife, says Aregbesola
National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has said he has not had sex with any woman since marrying Sherifat.
Aregbesola made the declaration while speaking at an ADC campaign rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election, according to Tribune Online on Monday.
Speaking in Yoruba, the former Osun State governor said his faithfulness to his wife was part of a personal commitment he made to God.
He told supporters that although such a claim might be difficult for many men to make, he had remained faithful to his wife because of his devotion to God.
Aregbesola said, “Oh Lord my God, if you are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it. What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife.”
He added, “I told God that next June, we must do it at the Government House.”
The declaration came as political parties intensified campaigns across Osun ahead of the Saturday governorship election.
The poll will feature incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking a second term, alongside the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and Aregbesola’s ADC candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam.
The election is scheduled to hold across the 30 local government areas of the state on August 15, 2026.
