Former Kogi State governorship candidate and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dino Melaye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to tread carefully ahead of the 2027 presidential election, reminding him how former military Head of State Sani Abacha ended despite strangulating opposition parties.

The former federal lawmaker sounded a note of warning on Wednesday night in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.

According to Melaye, despite five political parties endorsing Abacha, God still called him while he was cruising towards transitioning from a military Head of State to a civilian president.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member charged Tinubu to ‘watch it’ because ‘there is a God factor in the affairs of men.’

Alleging that the incumbent president lacks an understanding of the God factor, Melaye wrote: ‘There is a God factor in the affairs of men. Tinubu does not understand this. Abacha was endorsed by all five political parties at that time.

‘There was no contest; he was already cruising to become a civilian president. God picked His phone and called Abacha.

‘When God calls you, there is no network failure. That God has not gone on omugo, Tinubu watch it.’
