Ukraine hits Russia’s logistics, oil and maritime facilities in multiple strikes
Ukraine carried out a new wave of deep and mid-range strikes against Russian infrastructure on Friday, targeting logistics centers, an oil refinery, and a maritime terminal up to 1,300 kilometers from Ukrainian territory, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
In a statement, Zelensky said the attacks were part of Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions plan” and were aimed at “depriving the Russian war machine of its resources.”
“Today action was taken against three logistics centers in different regions of the Russian Federation – in Sarapul, Kazan, and Volgograd, at distances ranging from around 500 to nearly 1,300 kilometers,” the President said.
He added that a maritime terminal in the Krasnodar region, about 270 kilometers from the front line, was hit. An oil refinery in the Volgograd region, nearly 480 kilometers from the line of contact, was also struck. Zelensky further reported “successful strikes” in the waters of the Sea of Azov.
“We are protecting our people and will continue to act as necessary to achieve peace,” Zelensky said. “Thank you to all our warriors who are delivering these precise and important results for Ukraine.”
