British pundit and former Arsenal defender, Martin Keown, has suggested three positions where the Gunners must make signings before this summer transfer window closes.

He made this known on talkSPORT while discussing what the North London club must do to remain competitive as the new season kicks off.

Arsenal won the English Premier League (EPL) title for the first time in 22 years last season, beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the trophy.

Speaking ahead of the new season, Keown suggested that the Mikel Arteta-tutored side must bolster their ranks by signing a left winger, a striker, and a midfielder.

He, however, noted that it is even more important “to get the people who are successful to re-sign their contracts.”

Speaking on the show, Keown said: “I think Arsenal need another midfield player, someone who can control things. I think they need a left winger.

“You could say they might go into the transfer market for a striker – I would not put it past them.

“Most players will want to sign for Arsenal, but the most important thing is to get the people who are successful to re-sign their contracts.”
