Kwankwaso added that he has known Ali Modu Sheriff and President Bola Tinubu since the days of the aborted Third Republic.

Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has claimed that former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, was not serious about comments made regarding his principal, Peter Obi.
He made this known on Monday while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today.
The former Kano State governor was responding to comments by Sheriff that the North would not support the NDC presidential candidate, Obi, despite picking a politician of Kwankwaso’s standing as his running mate.

Reacting during the claim, Kwankwaso said he has known Sheriff and President Bola Tinubu since the days of the aborted Third Republic.
He added that the Borno State-born politician was only playing to the gallery in an attempt to impress people in the Presidential Villa.
Speaking during the interview, Kwankwaso said: “You see, my humble self, Ali Modu Sheriff, and His Excellency Bola Tinubu were all in the aborted Third Republic. We know ourselves very well.
“And up to now I communicate with them, especially Senator Sheriff himself. I know what he tells me, and I have heard him when he was here, but I can tell you he was not serious about it. He just wanted to impress our brother in the Villa.”
