Momodu also noted that Osun State, where Tinubu comes from, rejected him during the 2023 presidential election and will do so again.

Veteran journalist and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has stated that the level of hatred against Nigeria’s incumbent President, Bola Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 presidential poll is “unprecedented”.
He made this known recently during an interview with Arise TV anchor and media personality, Rufai Oseni.
Momodu, who was addressing Tinubu’s chances of winning his re-election bid in 2027, stressed that the President no longer has the backing of the Northern region of the country.
The publisher went on to add that Tinubu first needs to win the mandatory 25 per cent to remain in power.
He further noted that he must also win a minimum of 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to emerge as the winner of the presidential election.

While highlighting that Tinubu won the last presidential election due to support from the North, he argued that “Osun State where he comes from” rejected him last time and will do so again.
He said: “What he needs to win is first to do 25 per cent which is mandatory. It’s about the overall majority, once he can meet that target of minimum 24 states and the FCT, I don’t see how he won’t get it this time. The hatred for Tinubu is unprecedented.
“The majority of the people are opposed to him right now, including people within his own party.
“The last time he won because he was able to do well courtesy of the support from the North, now he doesn’t have that support, and he doesn’t have it in the South.
“Osun State where he comes from, his ancestral home rejected him last time, and I know they will reject him again.”
