Irish commentator and former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has predicted that Argentina will end England’s run at the World Cup and qualify for the final.

The former Red Devils captain made his prediction recently on the Stick to Football podcast, as quoted by Metro UK.

According to Keane, the Three Lions will come up short against the reigning World Cup champions when the two sides clash in the semi-finals this week.

He added that while Thomas Tuchel’s men might beat Spain if they face them in the final, they stand little chance against France should the Les Bleus make it through instead.

“Truthfully, I think they’ll come up short against Argentina, and I think definitely against France,” Keane said.

“Spain might be different, get the job done [against Spain], but I think there is too much there. I think Argentina would just find something in a tight game.”

England edged past Norway in the quarter-finals to reach the last four, while Argentina secured their spot by winning against Switzerland.
