The statement, which described the development as a minor cabinet reshuffle, also hinted that the governor’s Principal Private Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff were affected.

It explained that the reshuffle was carried out to enable some other members of the governor’s party to benefit from appointments and also ensure that fresh energy is injected into his administration.

“Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake-up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants.

“The decision, which is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration, also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.

“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” according to a statement early Monday.

“The Governor directs all the affected appointees to hand over all government properties in their custody to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government,” the statement reads.
