Newcastle reject Arsenal’s £55m bid for Bruno Guimarães​​

Newcastle, who intend to keep the midfielder at St James’ Park, have told the Premier League champions they will not sell for that fee.

​Arsenal have tabled a bid worth £55 million to secure the services of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United.

​The move was revealed on Friday by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in a post shared on his official X page.

​According to the transfer expert, the North London club made a formal approach within the last 24 hours for the 28-year-old.

​However, after opening talks with the Magpies, the North London outfit had their opening offer rejected immediately.

​Taking to his verified handle, Romano wrote: “Arsenal made formal approach in last 24h for Bruno Guimarães.

“Plan to try open talks for £55m was immediately rejected by Newcastle.

“#NUFC want to keep Bruno and told Arsenal they won’t sell for that fee.”

​Guimarães has entered the final two years of his contract with Newcastle United.

He has been in impressive form for Brazil at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament.
