Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has lambasted popular Hausa praise singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, aka Rarara, after the latter criticised him.

The controversy began on Tuesday night when Rarara shared a video on his social media platforms, criticising the ‘Electricity’ crooner over his recent comments on insecurity in Nigeria.

Davido had, during activities marking preparations for the FIFA World Cup, allegedly been spotted wearing a shirt featuring the Nigerian flag and the names of schoolchildren reportedly abducted in Oyo State.

Reacting to the decision, Rarara warned that security-related issues should be handled with caution rather than turned into political talking points or public spectacles.

”Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue,” he wrote.

Responding to the chastisement via his official X handle on Wednesday morning, Davido wrote: ”Damn it, every Nigerian should not stay silent about the insecurity plaguing the nation, nor should they prevent others from voicing their concerns openly. Showing bias and prioritising personal or political interests, and putting personal desires above the community’s goals, is nothing to be proud of. Be a patriot for your country, stop prioritising politics over the truth, and fear God in everything you do.”

Not satisfied, he followed up with another post in Hausa two hours later, stating: “If you had any knowledge, I would have taken the time to argue with you. But you know absolutely nothing; you’re just a fool.”

Responding to his post via the comment section, Rarara said in Hausa: “You should be careful.”

The heated exchange has since become one of the most discussed topics across all social media platforms, with supporters of both artists going for each other’s jugulars.
