The Gombe Emir’s Cup 2026 kicked off Saturday with pomp and ceremony at Pantami Stadium as football stakeholders, traditional rulers, government officials and fans are expected at the opening event.
The Organizing Committee invited soccer enthusiasts, stakeholders and the public to the official opening ceremony of the tournament Saturday, June 13.
The competition brings together emirates and chiefdoms from across Gombe State in a celebration of football, culture and community spirit. Organizers said the tournament serves as a platform for unity, sportsmanship, youth empowerment, peaceful coexistence and talent development.
The tournament is organized and sponsored by Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, CEO of GWG Sports Center. Organizers said his commitment to youth and sports development continues to create opportunities for young talents across the state.
