British pundit and former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has said that despite ending their 22-year search for an English Premier League (EPL) trophy this season, his former club will still need at least two more signings in the summer.
He gave the advice while speaking on the latest edition of The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.
Arsenal recently beat their nearest rivals, Manchester City, to the EPL title after Pep Guardiola’s men drew away to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in a week 37 fixture.
The Gunners were subsequently crowned English league champions on Sunday after their 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, but they will now be expected to bolster their squad in a bid to retain the title next year.

Discussing what the EPL champions should do following their historic feat, Merson urged Arsenal to try and secure the services of Atletico Madrid striker Julián Álvarez next season.
He also suggested that the North London club would need to bring in a new midfielder to complement the options already available at the Emirates.
“I would get a centre-forward this summer, I would go for Julián Álvarez,” Merson said.
He added: “I am a big fan. If they could get him, I would. I still think they probably need another midfield player as well.”
