Fulham boss Silva confirms Iwobi will miss EPL clash against Arsenal

Fulham manager Marco Silva has revealed that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss Saturday’s trip to the Emirates Stadium to face his former club, Arsenal.

The Portuguese tactician made the disclosure ahead of his team’s English Premier League (EPL) fixture against the Gunners.

The 29-year-old Nigeria international is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained recently.

He picked up the injury during his team’s 0-0 draw against fellow London club Brentford two weeks ago.

The versatile midfielder missed the Whites’ narrow 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Craven Cottage last weekend.

Analysing the match ahead of the clash, Silva confirmed that Iwobi will not be available for the London derby.

The gaffer further added that his teammate, Kelvin Santos, is also a doubt for the crucial encounter.

Speaking on their availability during his press conference, Silva said: “Alex (Iwobi) is still out, plus Calvin.”

Iwobi has registered four goals and three assists in 27 league appearances for Fulham this season.
