Wolverhampton Wanderers, otherwise known as Wolves, will play in the EFL Championship next season after their relegation from the English Premier League (EPL) was officially confirmed on Monday night.
They needed a result to avoid the inevitable, but a 0-0 draw between Crystal Palace and West Ham finally put the nail in their coffin.
Although Wolves were not playing in this specific fixture, the shared point between the two London clubs at Selhurst Park ended their survival hopes.
It was a tight affair between the two London sides; the Hammers, who are also fighting to avoid the drop, left with a valuable point.

The goalless draw leaves Wolves with 17 points after 33 fixtures. This means they cannot catch West Ham, who occupy 17th spot with 33 points, as there are only 15 points left to play for in their final five games.
Burnley (20) and Tottenham Hotspur (31) are the other teams currently sitting in the relegation zone. If Burnley lose to Manchester City on Wednesday night, their relegation will also be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the race to avoid being the final team to drop into the second tier of English football will now be keenly contested between Spurs, West Ham, and Nottingham Forest.
Although Leeds United, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Sunderland are in a strong position to avoid the drop, they are not yet mathematically safe.
