Nigerian singer and songwriter Charles Chibueze Chukwu, better known as Crayon, has disclosed that he used to have a crush on his colleague and Afrobeats superstar, Tiwa Savage.
The ‘If I Be You’ crooner made the confession during a recent candid interview with the streamer Carter Efe.
Speaking during the chat, Crayon—who was previously signed to Mavin Records, Savage’s former label—claimed that she also introduced him to “Backy” in 2018, a term for a potent blend of illicit substances, such as cannabis, tramadol, codeine, or Rohypnol, rolled into a blunt.

He explained that Savage asked if he smoked; when he replied affirmatively, she handed him the blunt.
The 25-year-old artist went on to reveal that he has struggled with an addiction to the mixture ever since that experience.
Recounting the incident, Crayon said:
“Tiwa Savage was my crush in 2018; she gave me my first Backy. She asked me if I smoked. I said, ‘Yes mama, I smoke,’ and she handed it to me. Since then, I started smoking Backy.”
