Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has refused to blame his goalkeeper, Filip Jørgensen, despite a costly mistake against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) round-of-16 first-leg tie on Wednesday.

Speaking at his post-match interview, the English tactician insisted that errors are simply part of football.

Jørgensen started in goal ahead of Robert Sánchez, but the 23-year-old was at fault for PSG’s third goal; his pass was intercepted before Vitinha produced an excellent lob to extend the Parisians’ lead.

The Blues went on to lose 5-2 against Luis Enrique’s side in Paris ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.

Reacting to the shot-stopper’s error, Rosenior noted that Jørgensen is not the first person to make such a slip.

“Players sometimes make mistakes. Filip is not the first one to make a mistake; that is part of football,” he said.
