Speaking previously, the thespian—who is known for his staunch support of President Bola Tinubu—claimed that Nigeria is safer than it was 10 years ago, despite the growing number of attacks by terrorists and kidnappers.

Once his comments began circulating, they sparked mixed reactions from netizens, with many Nigerians condemning him for a perceived lack of sincerity regarding the security situation due to his relationship with the ruling party.

However, making a U-turn in his latest post following the backlash, Seyi Law described his earlier remarks as insensitive.

He said: “My fellow Nigerians, I owe you this and more. I am sincerely sorry for such an insensitive statement that I made on the Honest Bunch podcast. I am not someone who would be too proud or too insensitive to apologise when he makes mistakes.

“I have looked back at that statement and I think it was quite insensitive to those who have dealt with kidnapping, or had relatives killed and all that. I want to sincerely and unreservedly tender an apology to those whom that statement has hurt. I believe that statement was very insensitive.”

Seyi Law further called on President Tinubu to take the security of Nigerians more seriously.
