The Membership Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation Committee (MMRRC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Imo State Chapter, has formally commenced operations following its official unveiling in the state.
The committee, chaired at the national level by Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim Imam and inaugurated by the National Chairman of ADC, Senator David Mark, is part of a nationwide membership reform initiative. In Imo State, the committee is chaired by Nze Law Biaduo.
The initiative constitutes a central component of the party’s institutional reform framework designed to strengthen grassroots structures, standardise membership records, and position the party for effective participation in the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling ceremony attracted traditional rulers, religious leaders, community representatives, professionals, artisans, party members, and other critical stakeholders, reflecting broad-based public engagement in the party’s organisational advancement.
Speaking at the event, the Imo State Chairman of ADC, Prof. James Okoroma, described the establishment of the committee by the national leadership as a deliberate and structured intervention aimed at expanding the party’s membership base and consolidating its grassroots presence. He emphasised that the committee’s mandate extends beyond enrolment procedures, stating that it is required to develop a comprehensive, verified, and digitally coordinated membership database capable of supporting credible internal elections, strategic planning, and policy implementation.
Prof. Okoroma stated that a political party could not attain electoral credibility without accurate membership records and effective grassroots coordination. He advised the committee to execute its assignment with procedural integrity, strict adherence to constitutional provisions, and full compliance with established operational guidelines. According to him, the reform process was designed to eliminate duplication, prevent administrative inconsistencies, and ensure that every registered member is properly documented within a unified system.
In his remarks, the ADC National Vice Chairman (South East), Sir Bon Unachukwu, formally unveiled the committee in Imo State and commended Senator David Mark and Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim Imam for initiating the nationwide exercise. He stated that the initiative is designed to deepen the party’s grassroots structures, standardise membership records across all states, reinforce internal compliance mechanisms, and establish a reliable membership framework capable of sustaining long term political growth.
Sir Unachukwu clarified that the exercise is operational and data driven.
