Popular British rapper, actor, and producer, David Orobosa Michael Omoregie, better known as Dave, has aimed a dig at Nigeria’s Super Eagles strikers in a song on his new album, The Boy Who Play The Harp.

In the track “Chapter 16,” the singer chastises ladies who lie about their age by comparing them to Nigerian strikers who falsify their age.

“H*es lying about their age like Nigerian strikers,” Dave rapped while singing the song.

However, after the now-viral “diss track” made the rounds on social media, it sparked online controversy, with many netizens accusing the singer of hate and hasty generalization.

Though a British citizen, Dave has Nigerian heritage through his parents, who are emigrants from Edo State, Nigeria.

He has collaborated with Nigerian artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and, most recently, Tems on his new album, The Boy Who Play The Harp.
