Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, has said coach Eric Chelle must find a striking partner that will complement Victor Osimhen before Nigeria take on Benin Republic in the World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

He gave the advice on Sunday while featuring as a guest on a programme on Super Sports.

Osimhen started the game against Lesotho alongside Tolu Arokodare but Chelle later replaced the Wolverhampton striker with Akor Adams.

It was after the substitution that the Super Eagles found the winning goal after Adams combined with the Galatasaray striker to make it 2-0.

While analysing the Super Eagles’ 2–1 victory over the Crocodiles, Ideye pointed out that the chemistry between Osimhen and his partners is still developing.

“Osimhen for sure needs someone to play with him. Watching Tolu in the first half and Akor in the few minutes that he played, we are still looking for the balance for the partnership between any of them and Osimhen,” the ex-West Brom forward said.

Ideye went on to urge Chelle to find the right attacking combination ahead of the crucial encounter against Benin in Uyo.
