UCL: Galatasaray taunt Liverpool after beating EPL giants 1-0 in Instanbul

Turkish club, Galatasaray on Tuesday night aimed a troll at English Premier League (EPL) club, Liverpool after edging past them in a UEFA Champions League (UCL) group phase encounter.

The Yellow-Reds defeated the English club 1-0 in the game played at the popular RAMS Park in Instanbul.

Although Liverpool dominated possession and shot attempts, it was the home side who scored the only goal of the match via a first-half penalty taken by Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray went on to survive the Reds’ onslaught and secured their first victory of the competition.

The defeat marked Liverpool’s second in a row, with the club set to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Following the huge victory, Galatasaray took to their X handle to share a picture of their jubilant players and a dejected Liverpool player.

Captioning the photo, theTurkish giants wrote, “You’ll never walk alone, but sometimes you walk out without points.”

Since the 1960s, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers has served as Liverpool’s famous anthem, sung by Kopites alike around the world.

The “Shankly Gates” — built in honor of legendary Liverpool manager, Bill Shankly — also feature the phrase.

Apart from these, the motto is written on the top of the club’s badge.
