Utah Governor wished the killer of Charlie Kirk was migrant
Utah governor Spencer Cox has sparked criticism after he said Friday, September 12, that he had hoped Charlie Kirk’s shooter “wouldn’t be one of us”.
On Friday, it was announced that the suspect was arrested for the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old white man from a pro-gun family with parents who are registered Republicans.
Speaking at a press conference, Cox said while he was grateful for the quick arrest of a suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination, he had hoped the suspect “wouldn’t be one of us,” hoping it would be someone from another state or country. He said he thought it would “make it easier” to be able to say, “We don’t do that here.”
He said: “For 33 hours, I was praying that if this had to happen here that it wouldn’t be one of us — that somebody drove from another state, somebody came from another country… Sadly, that prayer was not answered the way I hoped for… But it did happen here, and it was one of us,” Cox said.
Comedian Alibaba says he’s relieved that Charlie Kirk’s killer was not Black or Arab.
According to Ali Baba, Charlie’s assassination is a terrible thing but it would have been worse if the perpetrator was a Black or Brown person.
Ali Baba added that he can’t put into words how relieved he was when the suspect turned out to not be a black man. So far, it has been discovered that the alleged shooter of Charlie Kirk is Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah. He comes from a pro-gun conservative family and proudly wore a Trump costume for Halloween a few years ago.
His parents – Mother Amber Denise Robinson and Father, Matthew Carl Robinson – are both registered Republicans, just like Charlie Kirk.
Tyler Robinson is registered as a nonpartisan voter in Utah. He is officially listed as “inactive,” which means he had not voted in the last two general elections.
While his own registration was unaffiliated, Tyler Robinson reportedly became more political in recent years. During a family dinner, he openly criticized Kirk, saying Kirk was “spreading hate” and was “full of hate.”
Robinson attended Utah State University for just one semester in 2021 after securing a generous scholarhsip but later dropped out. He had a strong academic profile: reports say he scored a 34 on the ACT, which is among the top scores possible.
