Ace Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has set tongues wagging on social media after claiming he would have become a suicide bomber, oil thief, or a prostitute if he wasn’t singing.

He made the revelation during a conversation with one of his followers in a now trending video online.

The Grammy award winner achieved the feat with his collaborative hit with American rapper Gunna, ‘WGFT’ of his new album, ‘The Last Wun’, which debuted at number 96 on this week’s Hot 100 chart.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner is also the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in five consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025).

However, when asked by a fan what he would have been doing if he hadn’t ended up as a singer, Burna Boy said: “There are many options, I could be stealing oil, I could be playing basket ball, I could be a fraudster, a suicide bomber, anything including a prostitute.”

His response elicited mixed reactions from netizens, while many laughed off his suggestions, others argued he wasn’t joking.
