Gov Alia gifts Francisca Ordega N50m, 3 bedroom apartment, names street after Super Falcons’ star

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has rewarded Super Falcons winger, Francisca Ordega, for her outstanding performance at the just concluded 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Speaking at a state reception held in Makurdi earlier in the week, the governor announced a cash reward of N50 million, the naming of a street after Ordega, and the allocation of a three-bedroom apartment located in the heart of Makurdi, the state capital to her.

Gov Alia also praised the 31-year-old striker for bringing pride to the state and serving as a role model for aspiring young athletes in Benue and across the country.

While eulogising the Al-Ittihad forward, the governor said, “Francisca Ordega has made Benue State and Nigeria proud. Her commitment, discipline, and talent deserve to be celebrated.

“This is our little way of saying thank you.”

Prior to this, President Bola Tinubu had
gifted Ordega a three-bedroom Abuja  apartment and cash prizes of $100,000.

She was also conffered with national honour of Order of the Niger (OON) by the president.
